Chic guesthouse in historic Carcassonne

Product ID: 6414
Description

This beautiful family-run guesthouse is located in the middle of the old town of Carcassonne, and offers three luxurious vacation apartments that are perfect for romantic weekend escapes.
You can enjoy a lazy breakfast in the morning and after that just step outside to discover the medieval old town of Carcassonne, with its towers and cobbled streets. There are lots of activities you can enjoy while staying at 42 Rue Victor Hugo: you could book one of the cooking lessons organised by the owners at Carcassone Kitchen, attend a wine tasting in one of the wineries nearby, or take a tour of the local food markets. If you are not an active traveller you can simply kick back, relax and watch the world go by.
The house itself is full of history: the site originally housed an Augustine convent and the building as it is today was built by a fabric merchant between 1735 and 1750. The building's exterior still preserves some of the signs of the past in its stone staircase and ornate balustrade at the entrance.
Two of the three individual suites have their own kitchenettes with a fridge-freezer, microwave, hob, and tea and coffee-making facilities for those home comforts....

The building's exterior still preserves some of the signs of the past in its stone staircase and ornate balustrade at the entrance.
Two of the three individual suites have their own kitchenettes with a fridge-freezer, microwave, hob, and tea and coffee-making facilities for those home comforts.
The Apartment Suite is the largest option and has original oak parquet flooring and a living room with huge windows that let the light flood in. There is also a Rococo marble fireplace. The bedroom has a king-size bed with soft bedding, and you can find also luxurious toiletries, bathrobes, a hairdryer and a chic walnut vanity unit.
The Mezzanine Suite is more contemporary in design, but still maintains a cosy feel. You will find many utilities here, such as LCD TV, DVD player and iPod docking station and free Wi-Fi.
The third room, the Master Suite is more reminiscent of a traditional hotel room, with an open-plan bedroom and living space and en-suite shower room. The suite has no kitchen, but breakfast is included in the rates.
Breakfast is served in the property’s dining room and offers a variety of seasonal fruits, homemade jams and freshly baked pastries. There is an array of gourmet restaurants nearby, so experience some real French cooking, and make sure you try the cassoulet!
