The ultimate wine town, Stellenbosch has just about as much history as you can expect from the most well known places in South Africa, dating back to its origin 1679.
A great story precedes the creation of the Stellenbosch wine route, of three friends and their love for wine merging their three farms into a route that is now one of the most beautiful wine itineraries of the world. The Stellenbosch Wine Route came into being after the founders of Simonsig and Spier Estate visited the wine region of Burgundy and in awe of what they saw on their travels overseas, approached the final member of the trio at Delheim Estate, with the idea of forming an official Wine Route, right on our doorsteps.
With the largest variety of wine estates in South Africa and over a 150 cellars to choose from, you can soon see why Stellenbosch is a feast for the senses.
