This guided tasting is designed for anyone with an interest in wine, who would like to know more about the relatively unknown wines of Hungary. It will give you a thorough introduction to Hungary’s wine history, regions, important grape varieties and trends. The tasting is accompanied by a selection of local food.

You will begin with a sparkling wine (method traditionelle), taste some reds and whites, and end with a sweet botrytised Tokaj aszú wine. There will be a total of eight wines, which have been selected carefully from well known producers.

You will distill the wide range of Hungarian wine into a comprehensible story, which hopefully will be just the beginning of your Hungarian wine experience. Over two hours you will get a good overview of Hungarian wine, including the history, the major regions, the important varietals, unique characteristics and styles, and promising trends.
