Enjoy a journey through the history of Bulgaria, its countryside, vineyards and traditions with this full-day wine tour.  
You will be introduced to the Cyrillic script, visit cellars and the communist era sites, discover the history of Bulgaria during the Ottoman Empire and its insurrections and learn about the production of the local brandy Rakia. 
Upon meeting at the Tourist Information Centre in Plovdiv, depart for Brestovitsa, Bulgaria's wine capital.
Visit a wine cellar filled with souvenirs from the communist era, followed by a visit to a distiller where you will discover the secrets of manufacturing brandy from grapes, plums, figs and apricots.
Next, you will be introduced to the old methods of writing in one of the first schools in Bulgaria and visit the Ethnographic Museum where you will learn all about the Ottoman period and the revolutionary movement organised by Vassil Levski.
Traveling through the vineyards at the foot of the Rhodope Mountains, stop in the town of shoes and walk among cars and objects from the communist era before a nice picnic in the vineyards.
