Description

Discover the beauty of the Colchagua Valley with this private wine tour into the heart of Chile.

Set in the heart of the Central Valley, approximately 100 miles (160 kilometers) from Santiago and known to be one of the country’s most famous valleys, the Colchagua Valley is the icon of wine production in Chile. Production started here shortly after the conquest in the mid-16th century with the introduction of vineyards by Jesuit missionaries and then the mining boom of the late 19th century brought wealth and noble grapes of French origin. The area is now known for its award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, and Carmenere.

After a three-hour drive to Santa Cruz, the capital of Chile’s wine country, the first stop will be at Viña Santa Cruz where you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the vineyard from atop Chaman Hill via “teleférico” (gondola).

The next stop will be to the Hotel Santa Cruz on the town’s Plaza de Armas (main square) for a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, you will be visiting Viu Manent Vineyard, a model for wine tourism...
