Itinerary:
Day 1:  Upon your arrival in Toulouse you will be met by your host and guide Angus who will transfer you to Chateau de Terre Blanche in Chalabre, your base for the six memorable days.
After you have settled into your room, you will be invited on the terrace for a glass of the local sparkling from the nearest appellation, Limoux, which produces some of the best white wines in the region including its sparkling Crémant & Blanquette, and has been doing so since 1531.
You will have time to relax by the pool before dinner or take a short stroll around the garden or the village. Menus are created by the chef with locally sourced ingredients.
Day 2: After breakfast head towards the beautiful medieval village of Mirepoix which holds its fantastic produce market every Monday. Day 2: After breakfast head towards the beautiful medieval village of Mirepoix which holds its fantastic produce market every Monday. Angus or the chef will take you on a tour of this truly wonderful market, with its vats of snails cooked in garlic and parsley. Discover all of the locally produced fruit and vegetables including the seasonal wild mushrooms from the local forests.
You will have the chance to choose the cheese for dinner. Enjoy a delcious lunch in Mirepoix, before heading back to Chalabre for some time to relax and enjoy the pool and garden. Join the chef in the kitchen as he prepares dinner. Pre-dinner canapés and aperitifs will be served on the Terrace.
Day 3: Head to the Padman family of Château Rives Blanques, a white wine producer. Spend the morning amongst the vines to savour some of the history of the domaine with Carly and her son who will explain how they produce their highly regarded wines. Visit the winemaking facility where you will discover why the wines of Limoux are different to other French sparkling wines. Next, enjoy a wine tasting before lunch at the hotel Modern Pidgeon.
This afternoons activity is a bit of history as we will be visiting the abbey of Saint Hilaire . It is believed that the first fermentation of white wine was discovered here by accident. Dinner at the Chateau
Day 4: Visit the Unesco World Heritage medieval city of Carrcassone, a point of defence over the centuries from the time of the Galo-Romans to the Visigoths. Enjoy a tour of the walled site with an expert guide and learn about the history of this amazing place. Enjoy some time to explore the city before departing for lunch at Michelin star chef Jean Marc Boyer's restaurant. 
 Next, discover the Minervois region with a tour through the vines, a cellar visit and a wine tasting. There will be time for a game of Petanque on the chateau's court before departing for dinner in one of the local restaurants. 
Day 5: Today you will visit the town of Narbonne and the covered market Les Halles in the centre of the town. You will see and taste the best that this part of the Languedoc has to offer from its olives groves to local poultry and charcuterie, to the local seafood from Port la Nouvelle near Narbonne.
After a tour of the market stop at one of the bars and have a glass of the local white wines for your aperitif.
Next, enjoy lunch at one of the many fine restaurants in and around the market. After lunch take a stroll around this historical town with its unfinished Cathedral or look at the via Dominta the original Roman road that has been uncovered.
Visit the Ferme Narbonnaise, a beautifully presented store has the most amazing produce from the local region as well as from all over the world.
In the afternoon stop in the Languedoc appellation of the Clape on the coast and visit the vineyards then head back and enjoy the fresh sea food from the market and enjoy a nice dinner with a special guest.
Day 6: Head to the Minervois region which is not only highly regarded for its wines, but also for the black gold that grows in the local bushes around the oak trees. Truffles have been growing wild here for centuries. Truffles are a lucrative commodity and can be up-to 780€ a kilo.
Visit one of the original families of the area who have now started to produce truffles on their Domain Château D'Argeres. The Cro Mayrevielle family have been farming the land here for five generations and they produce wine, truffles and olive oil.
Visit their truffle field and learn about the special relationship between tuber and tree, the history of the surrounding land and the family's place in that history. Before lunch you will be invited to see the domaines enormous cave where the wine is produced and stored. Enjoy a truffle and wine lunch with the family, before returning to Chalabre for a special dinner.
Day 7: After breakfast you will depart for your journey home or onward to another destination. Your driver/guide will transfer you to the airport or station as desired. 
 Please note: Tours run from Sunday evening until the following Saturday morning.

Cancellation Policy

We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance that includes trip cancellation/interruption coverage.

If you need to cancel your trip you must do so by sending email with a confirmation receipt The cancellation will be effective the moment we receive written notification.

For confirmed departures, the following cancellation charges will apply:

  • 91 days or more it only retains the 30% deposit. 
  • 31-91 days it shall retain the non refundable deposit and the client will incur a 50% cancellation fee. 
  • 30 days it will retain 30% deposit and the client will incur cancellation
  • no show equal to 100% of the remaining balance due for the tour.

Clients may roll their deposit into of booking for another tour
