Amidst the bubbly atmosphere of the San Mateo wine festival in September and San Barnabe festival in June, this 3-day wine tour explores the superb wine quality and splendid scenery to be found in the Rioja wine region. 
 
The tour starts with a fabulous Wine and Food pairing Pintxo Bar Crawl under the guidance of a professional wine educator - Jose Ramon Berger. 
 
Itinerary:
 
Day 1:  Today is focused in the Rioja Alta area with a visit to the long-established Bodegas Muga, which has the rare attribute of making its own wine barrels. 
You will then visit a smaller family winery before lunching at one of the best restaurants in the area, the Vieja Bodega.
Finish the day with a visit to the brilliantly conceived Vivanco Wine Museum in Briones.
 
Day 2: Today will take you to a less well known, but nonetheless fascinating part of Rioja, Rioja Baja, now rebranding itself as Rioja Oriental. This is an area where fossilised dinosaur footprints bear testimony to their former existence in that region. Although less well known than the other two areas of Rioja, it does produce excellent wines.

Day 3: The third day will be devoted to Rioja Alavesa. You will visit the unusual winery hotel of Eguren Ugarte (with its miles of natural cellars hewn into the rock).
Then, discover the beautiful medieval village of Laguardia.
The tour ends after a visit, tasting and fabulous lunch at the quality, family winery of Ruiz de Vinaspre.
 
Please note: 

If the dates of the tour do not coincide with the dates on which you want to travel, you can choose your own preferred dates. The tour is the same, the main differences is that it does not include the Wine and Pintxo Bar crawl, and some of the meals will be at different locations. Please get in touch here

€200 per person deposit required on booking to secure hotel reservation.

Balance of funds need to be paid within sixty days of tour start to maintain hotel reservations.

Currency conversion is supplied as a guide only; the exchange rate used by your bank may vary. The final payment will be charged in the local or original local currency shown.


Cancellation Policy

€200 non-refundable deposit to secure hotel reservation.

Balance of money paid is fully refundable up to 60 days before tour start. After that it is non-refundable as we need to make our commitments with the hotels. However, if for any reason the tour is not able to go ahead as planned then the whole amount paid will be refunded.
