You’ll see the racked casks of slowly maturing malts in a traditional bonded warehouse and then, for those aged 18 or over, an invitation to toast George Smith, with a dram of The Glenlivet, on the very land he once farmed  nearly two hundred years ago.
You will spend the night at Muckrach Lodge Hotel, a delightful, warm, friendly and relaxed country house hotel in the heart of the Spey Valley.

Day 2: Start the day with a visit to The Macallan Distillery which nestles within the glorious Easter Elchies Estate at Craigellachie. Your friendly and knowledgeable guide will explain how they create The Macallan's rich spirit in a working still house and introduce you to the ‘Six Pillars’.  Learn  how their unparalleled investment in the finest casks contributes to the natural colours, aromas and flavours that set The Macallan apart. Next, experience a nosing and tasting of four of The Macallan whiskies as well as their very foundation, their wonderfully rich new make spirit.
Travelling south, take to the hills above Pitlochry to try the ‘uisge beatha’ at Edradour Distillery, the smallest and last of the original farm distilleries in Scotland. Here you will enjoy an up-close experience of the whisky making process. You'll be welcomed with a "wee dram" of Edradour in the Malt Barn and hear the history of Edradour and the whisky maker's art. Take a tour of the distillery to see the traditional methods of whisky making and experience Edradour being hand-crafted today just as it was in Victorian times.
At the end of the day return to Edinburgh or Glasgow.
