Friuli and Collio Wine Tour

Friuli and Collio Wine Tour

Enjoy its aromatic full-bodied white wines and robust reds in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine region

Tour type: Private , Duration: 8 Hours

Product ID: 10837
Description

Discover the Friuli Venezia Giulia, a small but powerful wine-producing region, overlooking the northern Adriatic Sea and bordering Austria and Slovenia, and enjoy its aromatic full-bodied white wines and robust reds.
Drawing from worthy native varieties and top international grapes, Friulians have applied studied vineyard techniques and avant-garde enology to the production of highly distinctive whites, as well as some eminently attractive reds.
The Collio is an area noted for the excellent DOC wines coming from its 1,600 hectares of hilly vineyards. The zone produces nineteen wines from its superb grapes, which are lovingly tended and hand-picked before being carefully selected and skilfully transformed in their cellars.
You will visit two boutique wineries, from vineyard to cellar, and meet the winemakers. Enjoy guided wine tastings of white and red Friuli wines.
Enjoy a light lunch at a nearby local restaurant including home-made specialties and wine before returning to Venice.
