Tour Overview
Discover the famous village of Saint Emilion, visit two beautiful châteaux: a Great Classified Growth estate and a beautiful family-run estate. If you want to gain a good insight into Bordeaux wine and how to taste it, this tour is for you!
1:45 pm: Leave Bordeaux and drive to Saint Emilion. Your expert guide will share all the information you need to know about the Bordeaux and Saint Emilion wine regions.
2.30 pm: Visit an authentic and charming family-run estate on the right bank. Feel the intimacy and authenticity of a private château which has been run by a passionate family for generations. The beauty and aesthetic of the place lives up to the quality of the wine.
Join a wine tasting class and become a wine expert in 20 minutes! "Intense colour, woody aromas, tannic taste". You might wonder what that all means. Learn the steps of a proper wine tasting and educate your nose to identify the wine aromas. You will be given tips and tricks to taste like a pro!
At the end of the visit, you will enjoy a wine tasting of the château’s wines.
4.30 pm: Visit a Great Classified Growth estate overlooking the Saint Emilion vineyards. You will be impressed by the attention to detail and the perfection with which wine is made. You will enjoy explanations about the winemaking process from the vine to the bottle. To finish, enjoy an aperitif in a tasting room with French delicacies (fresh bread, dried sausage, and cheese).
The wines you will taste are blends (like all Bordeaux wines) with Merlot being predominant. You will see how Merlot has a fresh and fruity taste. Combined with the power of the Cabernet, it gives beautiful balanced, and aromatic wines.
Enjoy a guided tour of the village of Saint Emilion, classified as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage locations. Saint Emilion is a typical charming French village dating back to medieval times. All the châteaux located around the village are labeled Saint Emilion (more than 800 of them).
