Full day lavender tour in Sault from Aix-en-Provence

Depart Aix-en-Provence for a day tour of Provence's lavender fields and the beautiful villages of the Luberon. Your local guide is an expert in the region and will share his wealth of knowledge on the region and its famous "blue gold" (lavender). There will be lots of photo stops along the way to make sure you can capture the lavender in all its beauty.

Get ready to spend a day exploring the lavender fields of Provence! Your day trip starts in Aix-en-Provence at 9am where you meet your friendly local guide. Set off in the comfort of an upmarket minivan and enjoy the picturesque views of Provence as you go.

The first part of your drive will be through the Luberon Regional Natural Park, along the beautiful, winding roads of Combe de Lourmarin to join the Claparèdes Plateau. On the way, admire the typical, local houses made of stone, called "bories" which are surrounded by lavender fields. Your local guide will stop in the village of Saignon where you will have time to enjoy a breathtaking panorama!

Your tour will continue in the direction of Pays de Sault, where lavender and lavandin are grown and distilled. Get ready for the views of the lavender fields in bloom! Arriving in the village of Sault you can enjoy some free time for lunch (not included). Take the opportunity to taste local Provencal specialties like the nougat produced in the village with lavender honey and almonds.

Leaving Sault, be prepared for the amazing views of lavender fields! Your guide knows all the best spots for photos so don't forget your camera!  

In the afternoon, your tour continues onwards to the Luberon village of Gordes. Perched high in the Luberon area, this Provencal village is classified as one of "the most beautiful villages in France". It is famous for the dry stones with which the whole village is constructed. 

After your visit to Gordes it is time to make the drive back towards Aix-en-Provence. You will end the day filled with an appreciation for the landscapes, villages, lavender and culture of Provence. Your tour ends in Aix-en-Provence where you will arrive back at 6pm.
