Discover the amazing Rheingau wine region, one of the smallest, but most important wine-growing regions in Germany, with this private wine tasting tour.
None other than the world-famous Riesling wine has its home here, and it is no coincidence that it is considered the "king of wines". Its history and that of viticulture date back to the 11th century. Family wineries such as Freimuth, Sohns, Ohlig and Nägler combine years of tradition with the here and now in a unique way.
On this tour you will enjoy a relaxed hike leading from Geisenheim, located in the heart of the sun-drenched Rheingau wine region, to Rüdesheim, known worldwide as the small wine town with the big name and for being part of the UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 2002.
You will depart in a private vehicle from your hotel in Frankfurt with a driver guide and wine specialist. Once in Geisenheim-Marienthal, you will be welcomed at the the Freimuth winery, in a Mediterranean ambience. From here you continue to the Sohns winery in Geisenheim.
Then the tour leads through the traditional wine-growing community of Eibingen, nestled in the middle of the vineyards, to the Ohlig sparkling wine cellar in Rüdesheim. You will enjoy wine tastings in all four wineries visited.
Enjoy a brief guided town walk that ends Nägler’s wine depot, located in Rüdesheim’s old town, where the day can end in a relaxed manner.
Enjoy an early dinner in one of the nice local wine taverns before heading back to Frankfurt.
