Located 100km away from Porto city you will be comfortably driven, while learning about the Douro region enormous importance for the wine culture, particularly for Port wines. For over than 2000 years, Port wine has been produced in the Douro Valley by traditional landholders that hold the Portuguese identity.

Our first stop is Amarante a small city but one of the most ancient settlements in northern Portugal, that blends ancient, Roman, medieval, and Renaissance influence into a delightful place.

Take the opportunity to know more from this charming village in a short walking guided tour through the historic centre where you may visit the convent and church. You may as well take some time to observe its beautiful bridge over the Tamega River and taste the renowned conventual pastry.

Continue to one of the most surprising spots of this tour, the São Leonardo Galafura viewpoint. From the top, you will have the privileged view over the Douro River, its terraces vineyards and dramatic landscapes that form the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world`s oldest demarcated wine region.

Continue to visit the winery of Quinta de S. Luiz (or similar), considered one of the most emblematic of the region. The visit contemplates the tasting of 3 wines of the region. It is the place where a special set of vineyards are nurtured, where the winemaking process occurs, and Kopke wines are crafted.

After this pleasant experience, it's the perfect time for a 3-course lunch at the winery restaurant, at Quinta Val Moreira where you will relish the best traditional Douro flavours, accompanied by Val Moreira wines.

Our tour continues to Pinhão, one of the most beautiful and charming villages of this region. Relax in a 45-minute panoramic cruise along the Douro River. By contemplating the imposing natural views and the terrace vineyards, you will understand why Douro Valley is the perfect place to relax, indulge on good food and fortified wines and feel the pleasure of living.
