Château Léognan

Château Léognan

Renaissance and passion

Product ID: 328
Description

The vineyards of Château Léognan nestle in the heart of a pastoral estate, teeming with wildlife and protected from the Atlantic by pinewood forests.

This estate is a small gem in beautiful Bordeaux. Before being acquired by Philippe and Chantal Miecaze in 2007, the 6 hectares of land and vines had been carefully tended for its grand vin by the neighbouring estate, classified Grand Cru of Graves.

Vineyards were planted as early as 1989 in the Pessac-Léognan Appellation. Grape varieties are made of 75 % Cabernet Sauvignon and of 25 % Merlot. The density of plantation is 1000 grape-plants for one hectare.

Although new as a wine estate, the Château itself was built in 1870. Having restored it to its former glory, Philippe and Chantal are now fully dedicated to establishing their wine, Château Léognan, as one of the top wines of the Graves region, as fine as any of its cru classé neighbours.
