Jako Vino Winery

The winery that brings you Stina wines from the Adriatic island of Brač

Croatian wine making has a long and rich history with roots stemming back as far as Ancient Greece. Jako Vino is a recently refurbished winery located in the town of Bol, on the Adriatic island of Brač.  Built in 1903, the wine cellar was created to serve the requirements of the first Wine Co-operative society in Dalmatia. It won its first award in 1909, earning a gold medal at the International Wine Show in Paris, and has been producing outstanding wines ever since.
Naming its wine “Stina”, the word for ‘stone’ in the local Dalmatian dialect, this authentic Croatian wine draws inspiration from the white limestone found on Brač, renowned for its usage in sculpting works of art, or great architectural structures. It is reported that this very limestone was used in the building of the White House. This ideology of craftsmanship and artisan skill is reflected in each bottle of wine produced in Jako Vino, and represents the art and craft that lovingly goes into the production of the wine made in this flourishing winery.
