A boutique, family-owned estate set in the idyllic Hampshire countryside

Product ID: 54592
Description

Jenkyn Place is a boutique, family-owned estate set in the idyllic Hampshire countryside. The vineyard was established in 2004 with excellence in mind and designed and planted to produce top quality wines. Specialising in dry single-vintage sparkling wine, it produces a Brut Cuvée, Rosé, and a Blanc de Noir. These are made in the traditional method from classic grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The 12 acres of vineyards are located on sheltered, south-facing slopes, straddling the 100m contour of Hampshire’s North Downs. The soil, greensand over marlstone, is perfectly suited to Champagne varieties.

Since the first vintage in 2006, the wines have won international critical acclaim with an array of gold and silver medals from the Decanter Wine World Awards, International Wine Competition, International Wine & Spirits Competition, and the Sommeliers’ Wine Awards.

Jenkyn Place’s award-winning wines, whilst produced in the traditional Champagne method, from classic grape varieties, are distinctly and proudly English in style – with a fascinating history, beautiful location, classic packaging and a family committed to nurturing the Jenkyn Place brand, synonymous with English excellence.

Jenkyn Place itself is an impressive William and Mary Grade II listed building, dating from the 17th Century. Located in Bentley, it is where the owner of White Star Lines, Harold Sanderson learned of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. It now belongs to Simon and Rebecca Bladon and is a quintessential English home, complete with beautifully-tended gardens.

Vineyard tours and tastings are available throughout the year. You will have a guided tour around the vines, learning about the cycle of the vineyard and the growing process, along with a history of Jenkyn Place Vineyard itself. You will then be guided through a tasting of the whole range of wines, and given the opportunity to purchase wine at a special discounted price only available to visitors.
