Antica Enotria

Antica Enotria

Family run wine farm using only organic agriculture

Product ID: 32958
Description

Discover Antica Enotria, a masseria dating back to the 1700’s, is located between the city of Cerignola and the seaside, just a few kilometers from the salt flats of Margherita of Savoia.
Thirty years ago, the Contessa Staffa masseria, or farm, was just a ruin, just a few abandoned piles of stone on the Tavoliere plain.
It took immense labour and efforts to restore it to life and today its courtyard is the piazza around which the daily life of Di Tuccio family revolves, its rhythms marked by the seasons and the harvests. Autumn sees the crushing of the grapes, then in winter it is the turn of the olive oil and the artichokes, and with the return of good weather one can see the tomatoes and the vegetables that are enjoyed so fresh.
Around the courtyard are the storage areas for the products, the wine cellar, and the barrel area for ageing the wines.
The soils, of alluvial origin, are fairly dry, with abundant gravel and limestone. The weather is mild in the winter, very hot and always windy in the summer, creating ideal condition for both grapevines and olive trees. Refreshing crispness...

The soils, of alluvial origin, are fairly dry, with abundant gravel and limestone. The weather is mild in the winter, very hot and always windy in the summer, creating ideal condition for both grapevines and olive trees. Refreshing crispness and full flavours are, in fact, the hallmarks of all of the products.
At Antica Enotria organic agriculture is a way of life, not just a method of farming. All the produce from the fields is genuine, flavorful and real.
The farm is organically certified and the plants are not treated with synthetic products or genetically modified organisms (GMO).
Wine visitors can visit the vineyards and the Masseria and explore the different stages of working the grapes and other agricultural products.
Experience a true full immersion into the rhythm of the Di Tuccio family and their philosophy and taste locally produced wines and sampling of the riches of the garden including Coratina olive oil, the variety with the highest number of polyphenols. A true full immersion into the rhythm of the Di Tucci family and their philosophy.
The farm also grows tomatoes, olives and artichokes. They are harvested at the peak of ripening and immediately canned without any other processing. A course on growing and canning produce is also available for visitors interested.
This winery is part of the Italian Organic Wine Route.
