Product ID: 51602
Description

Discover Bodegas Riojanas, in Cenicero, Rioja, a winery which has been combining local winemaking traditions with the state-of-the-art winemaking techniques for over 100 years.
The Artacho family had a deep wine tradition when in 1890 they founded Bodegas Riojanas together with Rafael Carreras. Signs of this tradition are the stone door built in 1799 to provide access to the family vineyards, preserved at the entrance to the winery, and the special prizes awarded to their wines before that foundation, as the golden of the Universal Exposition in Barcelona in 1888.
Throughout its 100-year history, the winemaking techniques have evolved because in Bodegas Riojanas the innovation goes hand in hand with respect for tradition. Being a classic winery, the company combines the local winemaking techniques. This enables it to adapt to current market trends.
Bodegas Riojanas controls more than 300 hectares of vineyard in Cenicero, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and nearby towns. The red grape par excellence in Rioja is Tempranillo, but Bodegas Riojanas also has one of the largest areas dedicated to Mazuelo and Graciano within the Denomination, varieties that provide greater personality to their wines.
