Blair Athol Distillery

Blair Athol Distillery

One of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland

Product ID: 54194
Description

Discover Blair Athol Distillery, one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland, founded in 1798, that distills Blair Athol single malt whisky.

The Distillery stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, Perthshire. Pitlochry is an excellent base for exploring Perthshire and Queen Victoria certainly thought so. She's said to have been one of the earliest holidaymakers to have discovered the beauty of this hillside town.

Set in open moorland south of the town, in the foothills of the Grampian mountains, Blair Athol’s ancient source of water, the Allt Dour, flows through the grounds from the slopes of Ben Vrackie, contributing to the whisky’s mellow deep-toned aroma, strong fruity flavour and smooth finish.

Blair Athol wins hearts through its contribution to the Bell's Blend, the most popular blended whisky in the UK, and a leading brand in South Africa and Scandinavia.

There is a visitor centre and a shop where you can buy all the bottlings of Blair Athol and Bell's blended Scotch, including the Port Ellen or Lagavulin 37-year old single malt.
