Stefano Accordini Winery

A family-run winery in the heart of Valpolicella mountains

Product ID: 31906
Description

Discover Stefano Accordini winery, in Camparol, Cavalo, in the heart of the Valpolicella's mountains.
The wine producer Stefano Accordini comes from a
farming background, first as sharecropper, then
as owner and finally as wine producer. The Company
is run by the Accordini family with the involvement of
their wives and sons, each carrying their specific
responsibilities.
The family estate extends over 20 hectares situated in Negrar, the heart of Valpolicella, in a place called Bessole.
The historic vineyards of Bessole and
Fornetto were planted by Stefano in the 70s and were
joined in the year 2000 by the purchase of new land
in the high Valpolicella Classico area, where it laid
the foundation for a mountain viticulture. A new and efficient cellar was built in 2010.
The new
vineyards are at Cavalo and Mazzurega, at an altitude
of 550 meters and today they represent the recovery of a lost wine production with
historic tastes of Valpolicella Classico, creating wines
with flavours of the past, clearly recognisable and
unique for the Accordini
family.
The magnificent landscape surrounding the estate looks out in one direction over the Lessini mountain chain and in the other a terrace that overlooks the city of Verona. ...

A good choice of three different varieties of grapes, Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella, grafted by Stefano and taken from grapes of high quality, guarantees every year the production of ripe grapes well suited to be withered.
The traditional techniques, such as withering, are employed to produce a wine of a very high level, the Amarone and Recioto. The winery is equipped with the most up to date technology, both the new winery department in stainless steel and the refining in small barrels.
Wine tourist can enjoy visits to the vineyards and the winery and learn about the different kinetics of dehydration of grapes.
The wines of Stefano Accordini can be enjoyed in the cozy tasting room or on the beautiful terrace.
Wine tastings will be paired with cheese and salami tastings or a delicious traditional four-course meal (typical appetizer, main course, meat or cheese selection and typical sweets of Valpolicella).
