PETER YEALANDS, PINOT NOIR RESERVE, NEW ZEALAND 2016 (WineDirect.co.uk £15)
From 2015, most of the wines in the Yealands range are vegan, and are also being made using eco-friendly and sustainable methods. The Pinot Noir reserve, made from two vineyards in the Awatere Valley of Marlborough in New Zealand, is especially a great pairing for Indian cuisine. Bright and radiant red cherries and ripe plums on the palate, the wine has a refreshing and focused fruit forward personality with earthy and velvety tannins that add gentle aromatic undertones to tandoori chicken, Peking duck, rogan josh and biryani. If you are on a vegan diet, this wine will go elegantly with saag, black daal, kumbh muttar (mushroom and peas) and bhindi (okra) dishes.
Theae are just a few vegan wines to get your spicy palate rolling. Let me know if you enjoy them!
