
Tour Overview
Join this tour and travel to the town of love, Sighnaghi, nestled inside the protective wall on top of a cliff and overlooking the valley of Alazani River.
After a walking tour in Sighnaghi, you will pay a visit to Pheasant’s Tears Winery where you will learn about the traditional Georgian way of winemaking and taste their exquisite wines (traditional and European technology).
Continue to a farmer’s cellar-winery where you can not only see the viticulture related old equipment but also take part in Georgian bread Shoti baking and Georgian sweets Churchkhela making. You will also enjoy a delicious lunch here.
The next stop will be at the 19th century estate of the Chavchavadze family, which used to be the summer residence of the family and it used to host many poetic meetings of Georgian elite. Take a walk in the park full of over hundred years old plants from all over the world. Visit the the mansion and taste wines in the 19th century winery before visiting a master who makes Qvevri – earthenware clay jars buried underground for wine storage.
Return to Tbilisi in the evening.
