Tour Overview
Explore Israel's Negev region and be surprised to discover the most accessible and most vibrant desert in the world.
For three full days moving between Sde Boker, Mitzpe Ramon and Arad, the gaze is filled with breathtaking views and the palate is prepared to taste the unexpected wines produced by resilient cellars nestled among the rocky desert dunes.
You will be accompanied by an Italian journalist who has lived in Israel for over ten years and knows every fold of the desert. With her you will travel on and off-road, you will taste wines and other local products, you will meet people who are making the Negev flourish.
On the first day you will visit kibbutz Sde Boker, the place where the founder of the homeland David Ben Gurion is buried, which houses one of the campuses of the homonymous university. Near the kibbutz you will experience the products of a goat cheese producer and a heroic vineyard. You will continue to Mitzpe Ramon, the world's largest erosion cirque, where you will stay in a very special "glamping with chef restaurant" and a second vineyard next to it. Before going to sleep, there will be an opportunity for a stargazing experience.
On the second day you will leave towards the south to reach and visit the community of Neot Smadar, where wine is also produced. After a lunch based on local products, you will go up again crossing the Arava desert, to arrive at moshav Ein Tamar. At sunset you will take a jeep tour between the rocks and the shores of the reservoir where the minerals of the Dead Sea are extracted. You will be staying at another super special glamping site, where there will be a collective cooking session, a barbeque and you can chat around the fire.
Day three will begin floating in the waters of the Dead Sea, then head to Arad for one last visit and tasting at a desert winery just outside the city. On the way back you will make another stop to visit the historical center of Be'er Sheva, the cyber capital in the Negev.
