Tour Overview
Unwind and discover the charm of Madeira's wines with our Full Day Wine Tour. Imagine a day dedicated to enjoying life, exploring the island's vineyards, and connecting with local wine producers.
Highlights include convenient pick-up (if you're in Funchal), 12 delightful wine tastings, visits to four local wine producers, and a delicious Typical Madeiran Lunch.
Madeira wine has been a global favorite for over five centuries. While many are familiar with the renowned fortified wine, our tour reveals the lesser-known side of Madeira's still wines.
During the day, you'll not only savor the iconic Madeira fortified wine but also explore our young still wines, both white and red. Join us on a journey through the winemaking process, from vineyards to the glass.
Your adventure begins with a visit to Funchal's Blandy’s Wine Lodges, one of the oldest and best Madeira wine producers. Explore their historic cellars, learn the art of winemaking, and enjoy a tasting of two exquisite Madeira Fortified Wines.
Our next destination is in the scenic North Coast, where the UNESCO World Heritage Laurissilva Forest awaits. Following a picturesque journey, we'll arrive at São Vicente, the second-largest grape-growing area in Madeira. Here, indulge in a delightful Wine Tasting at a Still Wine producer's Vineyard. Lunch, featuring a typical Madeiran meal harmonized with the vineyard's wines, will be a feast for your senses.
Post-lunch, we'll head to Seixal, visiting the home of a Madeiran still wine producer. Another round of wine tasting awaits, complemented by homemade local snacks crafted by the producer.
As time flies when you're having fun, it's time to return to the south coast. But before reaching Funchal, a final stop at Barbeito’s, another Madeira Wine producer in Câmara de Lobos, is a must. Here, savor some extraordinary Fortified Madeira Wines.
The return to Funchal is anticipated around 5:00 p.m., with arrival at the city center by 5:30 p.m. Throughout the tour, an expert guide in Madeira Wine will share key insights into the wine-growing region, its wines, and its rich history. All tastings will be guided, ensuring you understand and appreciate each sip.
Should you wish to bring a piece of the experience home, all wines tasted on this tour are available for purchase at the cellars/producers. Relax in comfortable, air-conditioned minibuses, guided by our knowledgeable and friendly English-speaking guide.
