Winery Overview

Here you can indulge in the rhythm of the countryside surrounded by picturesque Tuscan views while not being far from the main artistic cities of the region.
The history of Artimino is hidden in the mist of time: first an important Etruscan settlement, then a medieval village and lastly the beloved land of the Medici family, chosen for the construction of one of their most important villas.
The 4-Star Paggeria Medicea hotel, the apartments in Artimino village and the Biagio Pignatta restaurant compose the estate, along with Villa La Ferdinanda, UNESCO Heritage site since 2013, and the winery.
Surrounded by its 732 hectares, Tenuta di Artimino is the heir of a history made of men, land and wine. The territory is divided between the provinces of Prato and Florence, the Arno river flowing in the valley at the foot of the wine cellar. A vast area that is made up of large forest areas, over seventy hectares of vineyard - with the aim of reaching a hundred in the coming years - and many olive trees, about 17,000, on land not always easily accessible.
The territory is characterised by different soils, rich in organic matter. Therefore, by studying the various sections of land, the ground more suitable for the cultivation of a vine or another was identified, in order to maximize the quality of the grapes for Carmignano Docg, Chianti Docg or the other wines of the Estate; thus obtaining distinct fragrances and characteristics typical of the territory.
Wine lovers looking to discover Tenuta di Artimino wines can visit the vineyard and the wine cellar, and enjoy picnics in the vineyard with a sommelier and introductory courses to wine culture.
