Tour Overview
Enjoy a private cooking class lead by a passionate foodie in the beautiful town of Split.
Your day will begin with a visit to the markets of Split where you will potter around the colourful and bountiful stalls looking at the ingredients. Your guide will be by your side to explain what is in season and to translate giving you the chance to chat with the market sellers and learn all about the local produce.
After the market, you will visit Gligora cheese shop, which is the home of one of Croatia’s most famous delicacies, Pag island sheep cheese.
After these visits, it is time to roll up your sleeves and begin peeling, chopping, stirring and cooking. The menu may depend on seasonality and availability, as well as your preferences, but you can guarantee it will be genuinely Croatian.
You will prepare a three-course lunch which may include meat, fish or delicious vegetables and the dishes you cook may have a bit of a twist to the traditional for instance stuffed squids, prosciutto in red wine, risottos of all aromas and colours. A favourite dessert is the pasta cake from Ston; with chocolate, almonds, walnuts, a dash of lemon and a sprinkle of cinnamon, it is truly delicious.
Once all the cooking is done you will enjoy your meal with a glass of local wine whilst listening to stories about local life.
Please note: Groceries for the cooking class and lunch will be purchased in advance so please advise if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies. Also, this tour is not suitable for guests with walking limitations.
