Tour Overview
Explore Santorini wines and discover the island's fascinating wine history on this private, evening wine tasting tour. The tour starts at 5pm to coincide with the stunning sunsets for which Santorini is famous for!
After meeting your local guide at your hotel or at the cruise arrivals pier, you’ll head to your first stop of this exciting wine culture exploration, a private old canava. Canavas are the characteristic volcanic underground caves of the island used for grape storage and winemaking. You’re sure to be fascinated by the recent stories of locals who had to tame the island’s harsh weather conditions so as to produce their wines by using ancient techniques and methods that are still in use today.
Afterward, you’ll have the opportunity to combine the fascinating past of Santorini wine and its promising future by experiencing a unique ethereal session. Meet a famous award-winning local instrumentalist in his cellar and participate in a private show in which you’ll taste ancient Greek wines of mythical varieties as recorded by historians while the musician recites Greek mythology and plays live ancient Greek music on traditional instruments.
Your wine tour couldn’t be completed without sampling four more exquisite local wines accompanied by a platter of seasonal fresh nibbles, such as local cheeses and meats, while you chill on the terrace of a winery with gorgeous sunset views.
By the end of this tour, you’ll immerse yourself in the deep soul of Santorini!
