Tour Overview
Get acquainted with the wines of Eger, Hungary’s northern most red-wine-producing region with this full-day private wine tour.
The region is all about blends (such as the traditional "Bull's Blood"). Though better known for its reds, it also produces many whites with high minerality (including native varietals like leányka and kiralyleányka).
There is a fascinating system of cellars, some of which are still being discovered under the town. Many of Eger’s best wineries are located in villages outside of the town, but the town of Eger itself has played an important role in Hungary’s history, and is worth taking some time to explore.
This day tour will include visits and tastings at three of the region's best wineries, and a memorable lunch either at a winery or a restaurant in the historic center of town.
You will meet winemakers, walk in the gorgeous hilly vineyards, taste a variety of local artisan cheese, and learn all about the developing wine scene here.
