Tour Overview
Enjoy an unforgettable day in the Eger wine region, experience its history and culture and taste some of the still undiscovered wines.
Eger is Hungary's northernmost wine producing region, primarily known for its reds, but it also produces many whites with high minerality.
You will discover one of the most famous Hungarian red wine blends, the Egri Bikaver (Bull's Blood). Although Eger is primarily known for its red wines, almost 50% of the vineyards are planted with white grapes. Hárslevel?, Olaszrizling and Leányka are the most popular autochthon grapes, however you may find some really tasty, "trendy" Chardonnays as well. There is also a new region brand, Egri Csillag (The star of Eger) which is the white pair of the Bikaver.
Spend the day in the countryside and visit 2-3 different wineries, small and medium sized family cellars, meet the winemakers, tour cellars carved into the rocks and see the vineyards.
Enjoy wine tastings of some powerful, medium-bodied red wines and also some great whites.
