The Wonders of Lisbon’s Wine Region

Spend the day exploring the wonders of the wine regions close to Lisbon with this private, full-day tour. 

After passing the hills north of Lisbon you will find yourself in another world: the rolling green hills, and clay and limestone soils are abundant with many Portuguese grape varieties. 

After a picturesque drive, you will arrive to one of the most beautiful medieval walled villages in Portugal: Óbidos. This charming and timeless town is a lovely "open air museum" of white houses surrounded by a medieval castle. But there is life beyond archaeology in this place. Go for a walk in the long walls surrounding the village, taste one of the finest Portuguese liqueurs and be swept away by the magic of Óbidos' whitewashed houses decorated with bougainvillea and hydrangeas.

After this visit you will visit a family owned winery. This time you embark on an adventure, and visit a wine oasis, synonymous with a “way of life” that celebrates tradition, nature, and the creation of exceptional wines - and moments. One of the highlights of this first Quinta is the concept of sustainable vineyards, which not only involves the grapes but also the protection of the soil and water. 

 This approach results in quality wines that preserve the natural base of the grapes. In harmony with nature and ancient knowledge, the excellence of the estate's grapes culminates in the manual harvest.

Following the visit to the winery, you will have the piece de resistance: a fantastic and relaxed wine tasting with elegant and complex wines awarded with marvelous and broad views over the surrounding fields and the mountain of Montejunto.

We will continue to a second winery where you will enjoy a late but delicious lunch of wine and food pairings. This royal meal will take place, sampling wines from the winery while you enjoy a magnificent view towards the green hills filled with vineyards. 

After the meal, visit the vineyards and the winery, where you will have the opportunity to learn its history and connection to codfish, which is a gastronomic "obsession" in Portugal ( there are more than 1 thousand ways to cook it).

After the vineyard visit, return to Lisbon.
