Tour Overview
Discover Constantia, a gem in the wine world both in the Cape and globally, with this full-day wine tour.
The first vineyards of the Cape were planted more than 350 years ago, making this region amongst the oldest of the "New World" wine producers. The oldest remaining wine farms are in the Constantia region, long known for producing superior wines.
The tour will first take you out of Cape Town, around the majestic Table Mountain and through the lush suburbs that are home to some of Cape Town's most famous gardens.
You will start off tasting sparkling wine at the Cape's oldest farm, beautifully renovated with recent investment in the cellar as well as the vineyards. In this idyllic setting you'll explore the early years of this region and the legends that were written into its history.
To continue your exploration, you will go to one of the highest situated farms in the region and soak in the vast view of False Bay. This beautiful farm is also the steepest commercially farmed land in the Cape, and produces some of the most sought after wines.
Stop for lunch and you'll get a chance to take in the morning's tastings and stories, the beautiful surroundings and the friendly hosts. Lunch is your choice, but the guide will make recommendations.
After lunch you'll finish at one of Constantia's most famous farms, and taste one of South Africa's most famous wines, the Vin de Constance, a wine many legendary figures in world history have sought, in one case even chosen as their last drink!
