Notre Dame de Cousignac

Organic winery in Ardèche

Product ID: 52086
Description

Winery in the Ardèche.

Notre Dame de Cousignac is an organic winery, located in Bourg Saint Andéol, west of the Rhône River across from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

This ancient domain lies across 2 appellations, Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Vivarais. The chapel of Notre Dame de Cousignac was built in the 7th century and lies in the midst of the vineyards. Rachel and Raphael Pommier, the current owners of this family patrimony, bought the property in the Napoleonic era and cultivated wines and silk. After 7 generations, the vineyard is still active though the silk industry has disappeared.

The vineyards are all certified organic. Raphael's wines are without barrel aging, which is why their natural fruit flavors, untouched by oak, are so dominant.

The domain also offers accommodation in 5 traditional provencal bedrooms, renovated with old materials in a traditional way.

All year around, the domain is pleased to welcome you for an immersion in the heart of the organic winery, along with a discovery of the Ardèche. Several options...

All year around, the domain is pleased to welcome you for an immersion in the heart of the organic winery, along with a discovery of the Ardèche. Several options are available including wine tours and wine tastings.

A uniquely Ardeche experience, the SpéleOenologie invites you to dive under the terroir of the Côtes du Rhône Villages. A professional spelunker and a wine expert (winemaker or sommelier), will lead you inside a wonderful network of tunnels and spectacular rooms, dugged under the canyon of the Ardèche river, at the cave of St Marcel d’Ardèche. There, you will discover the aging place of the Vinolithic, one of the best Cuvée of the domain.

Discover the birth place of the wine's Terroir and enjoy a true exploration of taste in an unusual environment.

Wine tourism at Notre Dame de Cousignac is about much more than sharing a good bottle of wine. It’s the promise of a warm welcome, the promise that a family of wine growers will take the time to provide real hospitality, to get to know you better as a prerequisite to telling you about themselves and their wines.

Wine lovers can buy a vast choice of organic wines from the proprety from the wine shop located inside the tasting room, as well as lots of excellent products from the Ardeche.
