Embark on an incredible day discovering the Sancerre region.
Early in the morning, our expert wine guide will pick you up from your hotel or apartment. On the way to Sancerre, you'll drive through magnificent scenery while enjoying a delicious croissant and listening to our guide's explanations of the appellation's history and characteristics.
When you arrive at the first visit, you'll be plunged straight into the world of Sancerre. Discover Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, the two grape varieties that make these wines so famous, as well as the three famous terroirs: Calcaires, Terres Blanches and Silex. This diversity of terroirs gives the wines their unique characteristics. Have fun finding them when you taste!
The landscapes of the Sancerre region are breathtaking! We'll take a moment to let you enjoy a unique view while sipping a glass of wine. At this point, our guide will be able to explain how the winemaker looks after his vines and what different tasks are carried out.
Enjoy a traditional French meal with another winemaker. Now's the time to learn the art of food and wine pairing! Taste local dishes and some of the estate's wines. You'll surely have the chance to taste that famous French goat's cheese, Crottin de Chavignol.
Finally, visit a second winery. Discover the infrastructure and machinery used to make the wine: from berry pressing to bottling. The Sancerre appellation is surrounded by other well-known French appellations such as Pouilly Fumé and Menetou Salon. It's possible that the winemaker produces some of these too, and that you'll be able to taste some!
To round off the day, our guide will take you back to Paris and drop you off at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. You'll return to your hotel with a head full of wonderful memories!
