The upscale Peterc Vineyard Estate, overlooking a 200 year-old vineyard plot, lies perched atop Brda wine country, where the Mediterranean meets the Alps.
Today the Ferdinand winery is led by Matjaž Četrtič, an agronomist who wanted to become a wine-maker from an early age. He brought a family wine growing tradition back to life from the times when his great grandfather was making wine very successfully. He is talented author of Peterc wines and careful custodian of our vines and precious soil. Proprietor of the award-winning Ferdinand winery and founding partner of the Brda "Home of Rebula" initiative.
Rebula is the most important variety in the Ferdinand winery We love it and it features in every line of wine we produce – fresh wine (Classic Rebula), matured in oak barrels (Epoca), macerated Rebula (Brutus) and sparkling wine Sinefinis.
Rebula is part of the story of the Brda region. It was brought to our country in Roman times, flourishing in the Middle Ages and has stood the test of time. For its specific aromas, lively freshness and infinite possibilities of interpretation, this variety still has so much potential. With the Rebula signature, Brda could be an instantly recognisable wine brand throughout the world, so the Ferdinand winery initiated and co-organised the Rebolium project – “Rebula through Time”, to research the variety further and to promote its development. Ferdinand winery and Peterc Vineyard Estate are also involved in the organization board of Masterclass Brda Home of Rebula board a traditional every year rebula project.

You will be able to follow the whole cycle up close, from pruning in winter, to budding in early spring, watching the shoots and foliage develop and the fruit ripen through the balmy summer all the way to early autumn when the grapes are enveloped by the magnificent golden hue that only the treasured Rebula can give. You will witness the whole process from the vine to the bottle. Become a proud owner of your very own wine, bearing your name on the personalized bottle and you can even participate at the harvest where every grape is carefully handpicked!

Peterc Vineyard Estate and award-winning Ferdinand Winery offer wine aficionados and anyone seeking a new and different wine experience a chance to adopt a vine for a year – or even several vintages! Our crescent-shaped and softly terraced vineyard with true-south exposure has been under cultivation for over 200 years, as attested by the land register archives and Austrian Imperial cadastral maps from 1809. The current planting of Rebula/Ribolla Gialla on Brda’s famous marl soil dates back 25 years, meaning this sought-after vineyard is now truly in its prime.
