Tour Overview
This full day Bordeaux wine tour will take you to the two most well-known wine areas of Bordeaux: Saint-Emilion with its great Merlot, and Medoc with its deep and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon.
Meet your local guide in front of the Bordeaux tourist office and depart Bordeaux. As you drive, your expert guide will explain the famously strict rules applied to winemaking in Bordeaux and the difference between the various wine appellations.
First stop is at a charming Bordeaux wine estate that has been run by a passionate family for generations. Start the visit in the vineyards, in front of the château, tour around the traditional vat room and discover the wine cellar. Enjoy the châteaux wines served with an aperitif made of fresh, local produce.
Back on the road you will drive along the “châteaux route” of the Médoc region, to visit one of the most prestigious châteaux of Bordeaux.
Time for more wine tasting and a walk amongst the vines at a beautiful Classified Growth château just outside the village. After the visit, enjoy a delicious picnic lunch amongst the vines.
Continue your tour with a guided walking tour through the old town of Saint Emilion that is perfectly preserved thanks to its classification on the UNESCO heritage list. The village is located at the top of a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards.
After a tour of a wine estate, participate in a short wine tasting class. Learn the steps of a proper wine tasting and educate your nose in order to identify the wine aromas. You will be given tips and tricks to taste like a wine pro! Finish your day with a wine tasting of the chateau's finest wines.
